I have spent this weekend reading anything I could find about gardening, one way or another. Knowing that it is all too soon to do much outside, that snow and ice always are close, has moved me to read others journals and the New England plant magazines.

The seeds aren’t in yet at our favorite store, but hopefully by this week, so we can stock up. I have not been successful with the Todd Flats we want, but I will make another call tomorrow – what a quest this has been. Years before it was so easy, what gives?? We will be getting some of our herb seeds from Tom and Gale, they made a large order and said they would share what they don’t need – so we should have a really good selection this year - WOW!

We had a wonderful afternoon in the Goddess Garden with a great fire in the chiminea. It warmed all the air around it and I was able to stay out there almost 3 hours. The Spring Equinox is Wednesday, so we may have another fire, of course, if it’s clear!

Yessssssss! I got a print out of the Speedling.com catalog and we are on our way to order the Todd Flats!!!!! I am so excited, can you tell? We will be getting the 2”x 3” flats (72 plugs per flat) and the 3” x 3” (32 plugs per flat).
This will give us a great selection of plugs for the various seeds we will start. Hopefully by Easter we will be able to set up the greenhouse area we started last summer and set our flats in there.

Robert developed a “Garden Plan” work schedule format for us to use for this year’s garden, as well as the sculptures, etc that will be placed in the gardens. Today’s work discussion was to create a 10-12” raised bed for root veggies and potatoes. Not a large garden, just enough for us to be successful with! This kinda talk gets my heart to PUMPING!

Speaking of garden plans, Robert has stretched 12 (as of this moment) new canvases for their next body of work “The Garden Plan”. They are ready to go full-tilt with this series…their Studio schedule is booked solid!

Well back to the seed catalogs – we are germinating a Real Garden!
