What a wonderful day of rain. It started early this a..,and has drizzled all day and still at it tonite. I don't know what it will measure in inches, but it feels good to the atmosphere. Su.Sane and Robert and I walked to the village this morning in the rain and we looked like three primary colors journeying down the road. Robert in his yellow foul weather gear, Su.Sane in her bright green poncho gear, and me in my "don't shoot me - I'm human, you hunter!" orange long coat. We were quite a site and dry as a bone when we reached our destination. :)

We were hunter/gathers this morning and found a prize turkey for our Thanksgiving feast. Then we will fish in the cold water stream for fresh Salmon (land and sea, see?) tomorrow. What a dinner this will be!

The rosemary in my south window is doing wonderfully, still blooming and the fragrance is majestic. THe lemon verbena plants are putting out really nice new leaves that should carry them over for the winter. I'm only watering when the surface dirt feels dry, so there won't be much new growth during the cold months. THe mint is having the hardest time, but tomorrow I'm am going to cut it back further and see if it will replenish itself. Last year I grew mint in the fish bowl and it grew all over my room. So I think this new batch will survive with some more care.

I am going to begin typing Su.Sane's newest book Dream Shades into the the computer tonite. This constitutes some of the most important moments in my life as I prepare her work for her ease, and for us and our friends to read. The pleasure it gives me to immerse myself in the depths to which she has journeyed, for herself, and for the gift she shares with us, has been hard for many to understand about me. But it brings me such support in my own journey. To be able to help her publish the insights and clarity she receives as a true writer and artist, is a commitment for my life.

This "work" is my work as a gardener, turning the soil, nurturing the plant, and relishing the bounty of its beauty. I am blessed in my life and I am thankful for my listening to my Soul's delight.

All the ambitions I had for today got slowed down to just a small perk after being awake all last night in anticipation of the meteor shower! I might have slept a bit, but I don't remember waking up because I don't think I ever dozed off. But I was up and ready at 3:30 to view the show.

It started off slow, but by the 5 am prediction, there was quite a show going on. Even with cloud cover, the sights were spectacular. Of course we sat in the garden with our heads covered in snuggly hats and coats and mummy bags. The ooohs and aaaahs were plentiful and loud sometimes, I must say :) But who can help it??

I didn't even get around to checking the bird feeders, etc. today, but by this evening (after dark) was getting a second wind. I guess this is what winter is all about....doing what you can and not getting distraught over what you can't.

Tomorrow we hope to get some of the lites up in the Goddess Garden and begin to prepare for the holidays. We made out our menu for Thanksgiving Day and it will definitely call for a looooooong walk afterwards! The friends that will be joining us bring with them treasured memories of the past year and all the hopes and dreams of our futures together.

Sleep well world.......
